1946\u20131947<\/b><\/span>
\nAfter WWII, Rumianca set up a modern and well-equipped R&D Laboratory to develop new products for agriculture and basic chemistry. As a result, production began on granulated compound fertilizers, such as ammonium phosphate and PKN.<\/p>\n

1948<\/b><\/span>
\nConstruction of the Ceppo Morelli hydroelectric power plant was completed. The plant draws water from the Anza River in Macugnaga and is supported by a settling basin in the Quarazza Valley. The penstock has a 550-m head, and the plant generates 14,000 kWh.<\/p>\n

1949\u20131954<\/b><\/span>
\nTo support fertilizer production, a modern synthetic ammonia production plant was built, along with a unit for producing nitrogen-hydrogen mix from methane, as well as another large sulphuric acid plant for processing both granular and floated iron pyrite. Fertilizer production reached 25,000 tons. Facilities were also built for the production of DDT, chlorosulfonic acid, chlorine, ortho-dichlorobenzene, bleaching earths, selective herbicides, Rumianca powder, copper oxychloride, micronized sulphur, and ammonium sulphate.<\/p>\n

A heavy-fuel oil thermoelectric power plant with a 14,000 kWh capacity was built outside the plant, to compensate for electricity shortage during the winter months.<\/p>\n

1964<\/b><\/span>
