{"id":4978,"date":"2022-06-21T15:39:34","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T13:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.altairchemical.com\/altair-chimica-takes-another-step-towards-energetic-independence\/"},"modified":"2022-06-21T15:39:34","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T13:39:34","slug":"altair-chimica-takes-another-step-towards-energetic-independence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.altairchemical.com\/en\/altair-chimica-takes-another-step-towards-energetic-independence\/","title":{"rendered":"Altair Chimica takes another step towards energetic independence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Altair Chimica<\/strong> has signed a ten-year agreements of <strong>Corporate PPA<\/strong> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axpo.com\/it\/it\/home.html\">Axpo Italia<\/a>, a main renewable energy producer in Switzerland, and Sistema Rinnovabili, renewable sources producer: a fundamental step towards achieving the corporate objectives of <strong>economic and environmental sustainability.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The agreement, among the first in Italy, is a fundamental tool for the development of new energy plants, essential for achieving the <strong>goals of decarbonisation<\/strong> and energy independence.<\/p>\n<p>In summary, the <em>\u201cCorporate Power Purchase Agreement\u201d<\/em> is a medium-long term agreement that allows a company to purchase electricity from renewable energy production plants.<\/p>\n<p>The international geopolitical scenario is pushing towards a further acceleration of projects dedicated to renewable sources in Italy, to favor the energy transition and increase their autonomy in energy supply.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the energy will be produced by the <strong>photovoltaic system<\/strong> under construction by Agro Solar I S.r.l., part of the Sistema Rinnovabili group, a renewable utility engaged in the development of large-scale photovoltaic systems and in the purchase and management of already active plants.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axpo.com\/it\/it\/home.html\">Axpo Italy<\/a> will ensure Altair Chimica a supply of approximately <strong>43,800 MWh per year<\/strong> of clean energy, starting from 1 July 2022 at a guaranteed fixed price for the entire period of the Corporate PPA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>De-carbonization<\/strong> is an opportunity for innovation and business but also a strategic choice with which to strengthen the sustainable positioning of a company\u201d, says Eng. <strong>Roberto Vagheggi<\/strong>, General Manager of the Industrial Chemical Division of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.essecogroup.com\/\">Esseco Group<\/a> and CEO of Altair Chimica. \u201cThe agreement with Axpo Italia and Sistema Rinnovabili allows us to access a <strong>supply of clean and certified energy<\/strong>, reducing the emissions of our plants and at the same time contributing to the growth of renewable sources in Italy, a goal that is fully reflected in the business development plan \u201c. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.essecogroup.com\/\">Esseco Group<\/a> is to become <strong>energy independent<\/strong> from external supplies, through continuous investments aimed at self-producing of energy from renewable sources, <strong>without CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement that we are advertising today will soon be followed, by further news of the same tenor and significance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From 2023 the group will be independent for 75% of its electric needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will reach the European decarbonisation targets 30 years in advance.<\/p>\n<p>And we are extremely proud of it!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/06-21-22_PPA_Comunicato_Altair_Axpo_Sistema-Rinnovabili.pdf\">Read the Press Release (ITA)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Altair Chimica has signed a ten-year agreements of Corporate PPA with Axpo Italia, a main renewable energy producer in Switzerland, and Sistema Rinnovabili, renewable sources producer: a fundamental step towards achieving the corporate objectives of economic and environmental sustainability.
