{"id":5373,"date":"2026-07-19T05:59:05","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T03:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.altairchemical.com\/?p=5373"},"modified":"2026-07-19T05:59:05","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T03:59:05","slug":"our-energy-tangible-figures-for-an-increasingly-sustainable-chemical-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.altairchemical.com\/en\/our-energy-tangible-figures-for-an-increasingly-sustainable-chemical-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Energy: Tangible Figures for an Increasingly Sustainable Chemical Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For Altair Chemical, <strong>energy management is a strategic lever for supporting competitiveness<\/strong>, ensuring industrial continuity and advancing the transition towards increasingly sustainable production processes.<\/p>\n<p>As of 31 December 2025, <strong>our energy mix reflects a long-term pathway built through investment<\/strong>, the integration of renewable sources, self-generation and long-term power supply agreements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Altair Chemical\u2019s energy mix is composed as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>30.7% from hydroelectric power plants<\/li>\n<li>22.1% from solar power, through on-site, off-site and Power Purchase Agreement solutions<\/li>\n<li>20% from high-efficiency cogeneration plants<\/li>\n<li>27.2% from other market sources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This diversified approach enables us to combine different energy sources and technologies, make the most of the specific characteristics of our production sites and progressively reduce <strong>our dependence on conventional energy sources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These figures translate into three particularly significant indicators:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>83% renewable energy<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>86% CO\u2082-free energy<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>73% of energy generated through on-site, off-site and PPA solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A significant contribution also comes from the <strong>Guarantees of Origin associated with the Energy Release mechanism<\/strong>, which is designed to support the development of new renewable electricity generation capacity for energy-intensive companies.<\/p>\n<p>The measure provides for a 36-month advance supply period, during which the <strong>GSE \u2013 Gestore dei Servizi Energetici, Italy\u2019s Energy Services Manager<\/strong> \u2013 supplies energy-intensive companies with available renewable electricity at a predetermined price.<\/p>\n<p>In return, the beneficiaries undertake <strong>to develop new renewable energy plants<\/strong>, either directly or through third parties. The energy received in advance is subsequently returned through the output generated by the new plants over the following twenty years.<\/p>\n<p>For an energy-intensive industrial company such as Altair Chemical, <strong>the energy transition requires a strategy capable of combining security of supply<\/strong>, process efficiency, self-generation and the growing use of renewable sources.<\/p>\n<p>The results achieved in 2025 confirm <strong>an industrial pathway based on tangible investment and measurable solutions<\/strong>, with the objective of progressively reducing the energy and environmental impact of our operations and contributing to the development of an increasingly sustainable chemical industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For Altair Chemical, energy management is a strategic lever for supporting competitiveness, ensuring industrial continuity and advancing the transition towards increasingly sustainable production processes.
