Altair Chemical featured in the 25th Sustainability Report of the Tuscan Chemical Sector

Today we took part in the presentation of the 25th Sustainability Report of the Tuscan Chemical Sector—an important opportunity to share our concrete commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Altair Chemical is among the most active companies in Tuscany in the energy transition. In 2023, the reference year for the report, we more than doubled our use of solar renewable energy and earned the EcoVadis Medal in recognition of our ESG efforts.

We invest in research through a dedicated center for inorganic and organic chemistry, which has developed a European patent for the removal of chlorates from caustic potash.

Circular economy is at the core of our strategy: we recover spent hydrochloric acid from steel mills to produce ferrous and ferric chloride—a result that earned us an award at Ecomondo 2024. To measure our impact, we’ve implemented Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and improved sustainable logistics by increasing sea freight and intermodal transport.

We thank Confindustria Toscana and Digital Innovation Hub Toscana for promoting this initiative, which highlights the role of the chemical industry in the sustainable transition. It’s a journey we continue to pursue with determination.
