Opening the doors of our Megolo hydroelectric plant to middle school students from Pieve Vergonte was a valuable opportunity to share the importance of renewable energy and the industrial history of our region.

In operation since 1941, the plant uses water from the Toce River and the Anza Stream to generate clean energy for our facility, contributing daily to Altair Chemical’s sustainable energy mix, which is over 75% green at the Pieve site.

During the visit, the students had the chance to see firsthand how the turbines, tunnels, and canal systems work to power the plant, gaining insight into how technology can harmoniously integrate with the landscape and support the energy transition.

It was an educational experience for tomorrow’s citizens and a meaningful way to introduce younger generations to the world of chemistry and sustainable energy.
