We are proud to announce that EcoVadis has awarded Altair Chemical Srl the Gold Medal,…

On the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, celebrated every year on April 28, Altair Chemical reaffirms the central importance of prevention and protection across its facilities.
At the Saline di Volterra site, a major remediation project was recently completed, involving the removal of over 50 tonnes of asbestos cement across a surface area of 3,350 square meters. The renovated spaces will soon host new photovoltaic panels, increasing the installed solar capacity to over 600 kW—combining safety, health, and the energy transition. At the Pieve Vergonte plant, asbestos sheeting from the former Carbon Tetrachloride unit has already been disposed of, and additional remediation work has been carried out at the Lauro Warehouse over another 3,500 square meters. The full program is scheduled for completion by 2028.
Both plants are certified to the international ISO 45001:2018 standard, in compliance with Italian legislation and the Seveso Directive, and rely on a Prevention and Protection Service (SPP) made up of qualified internal and external personnel.
For us, workplace safety is an essential part of our corporate culture and our sustainable development model.
