Altair Chemical has launched its new Wastewater Treatment Plant (TAS) at the Saline di Volterra site. This strategic and sustainable project was carried out as part of the remediation and regulatory compliance program initiated with the Tuscany Region.

With an investment of €4 million, the new TAS replaces the previous plant with advanced technological solutions and a focus on water recovery and reuse:

  • Separate and dedicated treatment of acidic, sodium-based, and potassium-based effluents.
  • Ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis systems to produce high-quality treated water, reusable in internal processes.
  • Integration with the electrolysis unit for the recovery of NaCl and KCl brines.
  • Reduction of incoming wastewater through new covers and the internal reuse of washing water.
  • Operational continuity ensured by reusing selected equipment from the old TAS.

This achievement reinforces Altair Chemical’s commitment to environmental protection and plant innovation, ensuring more efficient, safer, and more sustainable management of industrial water resources.
