Obtained by carbonation of caustic potash, with a process that allows to obtain a very high degree of purity and greater density, Altair Chemical potassium carbonate is used for many applications. It is available in different physical forms such as solution, powder, micronized powder and granular. The plant in Saline di Volterra, the only one in Italy, has two production lines of different capacities, which allow it to satisfy the entire Italian market and an important share of the foreign market.
Potassium carbonate is used in the chocolate industry, in the production of dried fruit, in crystal glass, in detergency, in the photographic and coloring industry and as a non-corrosive defrosting agent. The powder grade is used in the pharmaceutical industry.
