We are committed every day to make a positive social impact to improve living conditions of our employees and their families, inside and outside our facilities. A commitment that does not transcend the involvement of local communities. This has driven us start this complex process for the realization of the new stadium in Saline.

The Esseco Industrial General Director and CEO of the Chlor-Alkali division, the Engineer Roberto Vagheggi, was the first to believe in this project, and in the importance of giving to the community of Volterra a brand-new sports and gathering center.

For this reason, by using the state tool of “Sport Bonus” which facilitates company investments for new constructions or renovation of existing facilities, Altair Chimica has allocated a substantial amount of 1,6 million euros. In addition to this, Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra Foundation has contributed 100 thousand euros.

In recent days, the Municipal Council of Volterra has taken a decisive step by approving the technical executive design and authorizing the municipal offices to proceed with the tender for contract allocation, alongside the simultaneous initiation of a loan of 630 thousand euros. This loan will complete the overall investment of 2.23 million euros.

Despite the complexity and the necessary design modification made, the bureaucratic process is proceeding according to schedule. The hope is that the upcoming milestones will also be met: publication of the tender by the end of 2023 and start of construction in spring 2024.

The substantial corporate funding through the ‘Sport Bonus’ is not only a gesture in line with Altair Chimica’s consistent commitment to investing in the Saline di Volterra area but also a way to support youth activities and help new generations to live in a healthy and stimulant environment.

We are proud to be an active part of this project, and we hope it will become soon a reality for the whole community of Volterra.

Our congratulations and thanks go to the Mayor Giacomo Santi, the technicians of the Municipality and the Design Company, the president of the soccer club ASD Saline 1928 Silvio Chesi, who has been already long-term collaborator in Altair Chimica as Plant Director and Sales Manager, and to the President of the Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra Foundation, Roberto Pepi.
