Altair Chimica is continuously searching for technological and process innovations to make its production activities less environmentally impactful and more automated, thus reducing the hazards associated with its operations and offering innovative products to both national and international markets. Thanks to its commitment to sustainability, in recent years Altair Chimica has been able to rely on funding from the Region of Tuscany to develop strategic research and development projects.

One of these projects is ENTERPRISE (2021-2022), a project for advanced technological research and the development of new products and processes for Innovation, the Smart Factory (Industry 4.0), and the Green Economy. Participating as scientific consultants in this project were the Institute of Chemistry of OrganoMetallic Compounds (ICCOM) of the National Research Council and the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering (DICI) of the University of Pisa, which supported Altair Chimica’s partner companies in the realization of the project: X-Phase S.r.l., MTP S.r.l., and Snap4 S.r.l.

Dr. Giulia Giannoni, Head of Research and Development Projects at Altair Chimica, discussed the ENTERPRISE project and its five sub-projects, which have led the company from Saline di Volterra to make significant advancements in Circular Economy. She spoke today in Florence at the conference “Toscana Europa: European funds 2021-2027.”
